I was wondering if anyone uses a winter wetsuit for both surfing and diving. I live on the east coast and would love to buy a wetsuit for both winter surfing and fall/spring diving. I was told that a 6/5 Xcel wetsuit would do the trick. I am just interested in hearing any suggestions....

Surfing wetsuts don’t have the seals diving suits do, they let the water drain out when you are up on the board, diving suits try to keep flushing to a minimum so you stay warmer in the water.

Thats interesting I guess I never though of that, I just wanted to be able to double dip being that the price of some of these winter suits are very expensive.

L.A. hit the nail on the head with that one, however, i run rather warm normally so i dive with a surfing suit so i dont overheat but stay warm at the same time. Plus i tuck my suit into my boots so the water doesnt drain as much. There are ways to double dip as long as you dont sacrifice the warmth you need to stay alert under water.
