Stayed at the Marriot, great price, great dive shop, great staff. Also found a buddy on this site to do a few shore dives with.

Curacao is bought and paid for through Costco travel. We are staying at the Marriot. There was a lot of options in choosing islands and places, but we have wanted to go there for years and the price was right compared to the other islands. I have to admit, I am slow to travel to the islands since I would rather go home to Florida and dive there. So much I haven’t done and will never do, so I want to make the most of my time there. I plan on diving 5 days and am only bringing my mask, BC and regs since I want my computer and it is tied into an air2 setup. I may call and ask if they can accommodate that setup so I do not have to being the BC.

I too enjoy Florida diving (will be in Key Largo next weekend to dive). You will enjoy Curacao (it will be better for non-diving wife than Bonaire, more for her to do) If you ever get a chance to go on a specific only diving vacation, you should consider Bonaire. Unlimited 24 hr diving is available.

From ellishugh: Go to Bonaire instead! There is a lot of good diving in Curacao too. At BTS my non-diving wife liked what she saw and picked up a lot of info with the idea that she can send me diving while she shops.

@SaintsReturn - I have dived in Curacao twice last year. Once with Ocean Encounters in February and the Dive Bus in November. Both are great but offer very different experiences.
Ocean Encounters has nice large boats and a great staff. They are probably the leading dive operation on the island. The Dive Bus is quite unique since they primary focus on shore diving around the island. Each day they drive you to very interesting spots which allows you to see more of the topside of the island pre/post-dive. If you are renting a car, they will transport your gear in their bus and allow you to follow them to the sites which is probably much more comfortable, especially if you bring your wife along. Some of the spots they dive are difficult for boat diving which means less divers have dived on that particular site. My dives ranged from 48-102ft and 48-71 minutes.
The most notable wreck on Curacao is the Superior Producer. Note it’s next to the cruise ship dock and is restricted when they are in port. So, I would call/email before you arrive on the island if that’s on your bucket list.
I would also check out Director’s Bay and Porto Mari dive sites.
Cheers,
H
