Last week I went to Epcot to dive in their aquarium. It was a fun experience. There were a few interesting fish in the tank, but it was more fun to interact with the people on the observation platform and in the restaurant that is attached to the attraction. It was a long 45 minute dive... I say ’long’ due to the shorty and 78 degree water! I get cold quickly so by the 40 minute mark I was frozen! I think I was the last one to surface though.

It was the most expensive single dive so far, and quite possibly ever. So long as you don’t fly somewhere to do one dive and go home! ;) Of course, there may be an aquarium dive somewhere that charges more than $175. However, I won’t be doing it. lol.

I did it for two reasons, the first so my Mom could see me dive and the second was to dive in an aquarium.
For the record: When you are out in the Caribbean where the water is beautiful and the fish are everywhere, someone will say "it’s just like aquarium diving!" well, that is just NOT true.... the Caribbean is better.

I saved 15% with my AAA membership on each dive so the price was $148.75. For that you get 40 minutes of dive time, all your gear is provided, a t-shirt, & a tour of what used to be for the longest time the world’s largest aquarium. Don’t forget all the money you spend for that dive and the video is helping the different conservation projects around the world, plus it’s a tax right off. I truly enjoyed every part of the experience. The crew makes you feel right at home, there is lots of marine life (some 65 different species), playing with the folks on the other side of the glass as well. It was so much fun to play with the kids. I was only 9 inches face to face with a green sea turtle who was rubbing his neck on a piece of coral. My first dive I was stalked by an eagle ray named Beaker. It had always been a dream to dive there since it opened in 1982. Who would of thought

SnowboardDave - 7/20/2009 8:38 PM Wow, Ga Aquarium is much more expensive! I don’t think I would pay that much either! That is 15% the price of a real dive vacation! Yeah, the Baltimore program is for 2 dives.

dalehall - 7/20/2009 8:16 PM GA Aquarium is $325.. It’s a 4 hour program, but the dive itself is only 30 minutes. But, hey, they have 2 whale sharks, a manta and a few Sand Tigers all in a 6 1/2 million gallon tank.. Have I done it? Shoot no. I don’t have that kind of cash. :) Dale
