HardcoreDiveTeam was busy cleaning up Santa Monica Pier on September 17, 2011, for Heal the Bay since 1985. Scoring on some nice trash!! Quite a bit of plastic bags, a one inch thick piece of painted rebar that was 6 ft long, I didn’t think about it at the time, but it was probably worth some cash, could of been made into a soft steel prybar. It was huge! A WW1 gas mask:

Being a part of big group that Eco Dive Center put on at Santa Monica, along with all the other divers who love the Pacific in other locations along the coast, working that day, it gave a feeling of payback to the Pacific and its life. Right after that, we went and did some diving at murky Malibu!! Again it was an intimate connection with what we just spent a morning cleaning!!
