Escambia County Snorkel Reef Park West is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Pensacola Beach, FL. This dive site has an average rating of 2.20 out of 5 from 5 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 16-20ft/5-6m. The average visibility is 11-15ft/3-5m.

Artificial Reef balls were placed here to create a reef. It’s well marked with tall pilings. Nice parking lot. Not a very deep dive but a great place to bring students. Just a surface swim out to the reef. High tide will give you better visibility. The current doesn’t get too strong here. There are public restrooms across the street.

Day 2 of our certification dives. Managed to not drown. Finished all required skills and swam around the area for awhile. Home early for a hot shower. Man , it’s cold out there in early January!

Got certified with MBTDivers in Pensacola. Enjoyed it a lot. These were our first two training dives. Water was murky, but we did see some cool stuff around the dive area. The reefs are memorials, covered in personal items of the people they honor.Michael and Rebecca were awesome instructors.

Went here and to Ft Pickens 11/11/2013 solo. Tide was in, water was about 67F, no current at all, had about 10ft visibility. Water quality was surprisingly good. Not a whole lot of wildlife. Restroom and freshwater shower across the street, and visible police/security presence. Was not crowded at all.

Between being very shallow and not having any interesting wildlife to look at, I’d skip this one unless you want a place to practice.

I went scuba diving here on 8/19/2013. Average viz: Under 5ft/2m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C.
Had a great time playing with a stone crab, and a porcupine fish. Also saw a flounder. Not much current, surface was calm. Unfortunately we were at low tide so the vis wasn’t great.
