Hathaway #5 Midway Site Bridge Span Steel was originally built in 1929. The bridge connected Panama City to Panama City Beach. There were 14 bridge spans in total scattered in the Gulf of Mexico outside of Panama City Beach’s St. Andrews Jetties all sunk in April-May of 1988. Span #5 was placed on 04May1988 in 73 feet of water approximately 10.2 nautical miles outside the St. Andrews Pass on a 285.1 degree heading (3nm off shore).
