I recently relocated from Florida to San Diego to start a trip-granting nonprofit for people with cancer and other life-threatening conditions. Just bought a wetsuit and other gear to prepare for the Cali coldwater!

Since I’m a new transplant, I am interested in meeting other divers for local dives and trips to nearby sites like Catalina, Coronado Islands, etc.

I may also need participants, partners, and volunteers for a local shark-diving project. Basically, Prilosec (the heartburn medicine company) gave me a small corporate sponsorship to do some kayak/snorkel tours with leopard sharks in La Jolla, visits to local aquariums, and a cage dive later in the summer with blue sharks off the coast of LA.

I recently got my Advanced in Bonaire and have logged about 35 dives in Honduras, US Virgin Islands, Dutch Antilles, and Australia. My favorite trip is definitely my 3-4 day great white expedition with the Rodney Fox group in South Australia. It gave me the idea and inspiration for my foundation and shark diving project.

heartoftravel - 1/25/2012 2:25 PM Fin Forward is seeking a graphic designer to help with a logo and/or website theme for our "2012 Mayan Shark Odyssey," which is a series of dives and diversions for cancer survivors, throughout Mexico! This journey will involve swims with whale sharks, manta rays, and great white sharks in addition to visits to Mayan ruins and caverns. We need a Mayan/tribal-style logo to represent the campaign. While we cannot offer any money at the moment, your logo would be featured on underwater banners, in sharky settings, and throughout various promotional items.
