Always wanted to try diving since watching Lloyd Bridges on Seahunt as a kid. Finally certified in ’08, when I could finally - though arguably not! - afford it :^)

I now have 180 dives in and go maybe 5 trips, 20-30 dives a year. In fact in 2013 and 2014 I dove every day - until Jan 2 (did the Polar Bear dive at Mermet Springs)!

Living in Memphis, I realized early on that cold water was my main opportunity - getting to warm water would only be possible once a year or so. So, got a Dry Suit. My wife NOT a good candidate so I’ve got my daughter to get her certification recently. Got her dry-suit certified 2/13/13.

I’ve been to Grand Cayman once and Florida a few times, but mostly go to Dive Alabama (formerly ABWA in Pelham), and Mermet Springs, IL.

Other specialties include Nitrox, Deep, Night, Equipment. Toying with gradually moving onto Instructor.

billsoccer - 3/25/2013 4:54 PM I was just at Mermet a few weekends ago. My 2 bussies were getting their dry-suit certifications. I was sick so mostly acted as the chauffer, only got 1 dive in. Maybe we’ll see you sometime. I hope to go once every month or 2. We plan to go to Eureka Springs for the DUI show.
