Dude, give us an update...how are you all doing? What kind of year did you have last year? Any cool changes/additions to the Frying Pan Tower since we last spoke?

Also, have you all considered offering a shuttle service that only goes back and forth between the tower and land like twice per week? That way you can build in the transportation cost into the trip and maybe save people some money. Right now, it seems more expensive for transportation to get there, than it does to stay there for 3 days.

Greg, if you charter it does get expensive but if you can gather a small group of guys (4?) we can approach some local captain who also dive and see if we can get a trip out. Please note, we post weekends for regular guests, we can go anytime the waves and our jobs allow!

So if I understood your interview with Greg you provide transportation to and from the rig, a room and nothing else. If I want to make 4 dives while I am there I would need to bring 4 full tanks and whatever food and drinks I would want during my stay?

Yep, correct on the tanks (sorry) but we do provide your food as well (unless you spearfish you meals!) so show up at the dock, get on the boat, eat, sleep, 2 nights, 3 days. But this is not an ad, we’ve got plenty of guests and are starting to limit who can come out to new dive friends. Hey, you got only so many good summer days to use, so use them well. Richard

You would need to water blast the joints to inspect them first. Repairing the joints would be the preferred method to maintain the platform. If you have to replace a leg I think the cost would be too great.

if we had to replace any of the legs it would be as you noted, not possible. We are lucky that one of our potential groups to consider leasing a portion of it did an engineering inspection and pointed out exactly what and where we needed to focus our restoration efforts. Nothing under the water, a bit at water level and some just under the main section. We’re doing those repairs this spring / summer (and diving meanwhile :)

Are you going to need to repair/replace any of the legs of the platform? Or do you expect them last several more years as-is?

we have inspected them and they are SOLID and no issues for eh, maybe another 50 years.
