You can see the video Steve took this weekend when we went out spearfishing 25 Miles out from St. Pete and a nice 8 foot Tiger Shark came up to me when I was down taking Hogfish and Amberjack home for dinner. I guess he had the same idea. I faced him with the spear and he deflected but went back up to the boat to unload my stringer before I went back down. But I only had 500 pounds left and I did not want to shoot something and deal with him again on that, so I just looked around. The second dive was on the other end of the peaks about half a mile away but he did not come back a second time.

I Do actually love to collect fish too (not just eat them!). I have been trying to use my slurp gun for my aquarium collection at home but so far no luck. I also have a few clear collection nets but nothing too big. I want to get better at collecting! Any ideas? Any luck doing that in the Gulf? I would love to learn from some with experience. Thanks, Martin

Looking for people to go out either on my boat into the gulf or on their boat for diving and spearfishing. My boat is at John’s Pass near St. Pete Beach.
